Retirement: Azure Monitor experience (preview) in HDInsight is retiring by February 1, 2025

On February 1, 2025, Azure HDInsight is retiring the Log Analytics used in Azure Monitor experience (preview).

In case you migrated from Classic Log Analytics to New Azure monitor experience (preview), you would have completed adjustments to the new table formats. In this case, you are only required to recreate your cluster with the image 2407260448 to m move to Azure Monitor Agent (AMA) before January 31, 2025.

If you are migrating from Classic Log Analytics to Azure Monitor Agent (AMA) which replaces the Log Analytics agent. You are required to make some adjustments to the new table formats.

Required action:

Follow the steps outlined in the Activate Azure Monitor Agent integration section.

To avoid service disruptions, move to latest image (2407260448) of HDInsight to use Azure Monitor Agent (AMA) for log analytics before January 31, 2025.

Effective Image # 2407260448, customers using portal for log analytics will have default Azure Monitor Agent experience. In case you wish to switch to Azure Monitor experience (preview), you can pin your clusters to old images by creating a support request.

1. For Issue type, select Technical.
2. For Subscription, select your subscription. 
3. For Service, select My services, then select HDInsight Service. 
4. Select the Azure resource that you're creating a support request for. 
5. For Summary, mention Log Analytics Migration.
6. For Problem type, select Monitoring Issues. 
7. For problem subtype, select Azure Monitor – Installation or Uninstallation Failing.
